Up close you feel the pallet knife work and heavy texture in the rocks and trees. Sand and sky is softly brushed with intricate lighting changes. From a distance, this painting looks photographic. My father brought us many times to Big Sur and Pfeifer State Park. We share many memories which I revisited while painting this scene..

I painted the edges as well after stretching it on 1.5 inch deep gallery stretcher bars.
